Some family secrets should go to the grave. In the tiny town of Milnor, ND, Adam struggles to bring some measure of normalcy to his life, after a tragic event left him confined to a wheelchair, twenty-one years earlier. His sister, Ada, fills his days with psychological torment and disappears for days at a time. Is it sibling rivalry, or something more sinister? By Baked Bean

For those who enjoy suspense and a good old-fashioned scary shiver down your spine, you’ve found your book.
Splinter takes you into the life of young Adam, who suffers from a psychotic trauma that no early age child should be
subjected to. But despite his struggles past and present, he shows remarkable resilience to overcome it all.
I’ve always considered short stories to be the most difficult to pull off from a readers point-of-view, due to the small window
of time to make the characters believable and a cohesive part of the story. Michael Bussa delivers this in a way that would
make Alfred Hitchcock pop a breast button. You will be drawn into Adam’s world, like it or not. I dare you to read this one
alone in the dark!

All Carson Reno Mystery Series Books are standalone novels. It is not necessary to read them in any particular order.
Someone is brutally murdering people in Memphis, and for unknown reasons, the killer wants Carson involved.
They’re not just killing people, they’re removing the victim’s fingers and leaving strange clues everywhere. Carson becomes involved when the killer sends him severed thumbs – each wrapped in bloodstained paper containing Bible scripture.
Clues are everywhere, but none of them make any sense and aren’t connected – yet.
Old names surface and the mystery gets stranger and darker as Carson tries to solve the ‘Fingerprint Murders’.

Severed Finger!

The Black and White pictures mixed in with the story is classic! The Jack Daniels, the butcher knife, and the severed finger. Darnell’s style of writing, along with the sparse photos, paints a vivid picture in my mind and keeps me turning the pages. I’ve read one Carson Reno book before this and have to admit I am hooked. I don’t think Gerald Darnell can top this Reno Carson story. If you are going to read a Reno Carson, this is the one!

Dark, Gritty, Street Violence and Sex

By Laurie Christensen

As a child Tori was ripped from her family, forced into a life of violence being owned and trained by bikers, formerly Special Forces, who raise her to be an evil so bad she even consumes them. In trying to get out, she gets entangled with the FBI who try to manipulate her into being the destructive force needed to take down The Organization an evil conglomerate with fingers in everything and muscle to back them up. With her skills, she rips through them taking no prisoners but also finds love in between. Painful, shocking, but a fantastic read. Each book of the 7 book series brings you on a tightrope of excitement that keeps you entertained every page. LOVE LOVE the ending which, through the violence, leaves you with the Happy Ever After you deserve to cry tears for!

Masterfully done again.

This is my second Carson Reno novel. Besides the fact I enjoy detective stories and the ‘whodunit’ of this genre, Author Darnell, makes it a pleasurable & enjoyable read in the manner he ‘pulls you’ into the settings. Couple that with vivid characters, and you have another winner, which I enjoyed from start to finish.

All Carson Reno Mystery Series Books are standalone novels. It is not necessary to read them in any particular order.
It’s a New Year, and it has gotten off to a very bad start for Carson.
Several prominent citizens and business leaders from Humboldt are dying in some strange and bizarre accidents. Carson becomes involved when an insurance company hires him to investigate.
What happens next is even more strange and bizarre for this little town in West Tennessee.
The clues are everywhere, but none of them make any sense. It may be that the ‘last man standing’ is responsible for these accidents – but why?
Follow Carson as he works on one of his wildest adventures ever in ‘Dead Men Don’t Remember.’

Another Carson Reno investigation that you will love!

Carson Reno starts the New Year with a case in Humboldt where prominent businessmen are being murdered or commit suicide. You will be taken on a remarkable journey as Reno investigates these cases until he finally gets the bad guy!
Darnell’s characters are amazing! They are believable to the point that, along with the storyline, pull you into the investigation.
I highly recommend “Dead Men Don’t Remember” to everyone!
