Who would’ve thought a joke would end up being so real? – With a Side of Love (Clere’s Restaurant Book 2) by Pamela Ackerson

When Sarah Melton decided to move to Florida to be closer to her sisters, she had no idea she’d be served a plateful of drama.

She’d always been told that a restaurant was a good place to find subject matter for the soap operas…well, that was an understatement!

Intrigue, and Romance!

This story translates into the movie you’ve been waiting to watch on a Sunday afternoon.

I was immediately captivated by the skillfully written dialogue, and action scenes playing out across picturesque international locations.
I felt a sense of urgency as though I were escaping across borders, or saying hello and goodbye by the good graces of chance. What tops off this story’s cleverness is the sprinkling of humor in all the right places. For me, it added a certain depth and balance to characters who must remain two steps ahead at all times.
Thanks for the great read, Mrs. Kauffman!

“A cute, cozy whodunit.” – “March Blues” (A Cat Collier Mystery 3) by Carol Ann Kauffman

Small-town red-head Cat Collier runs a private investigation service called Red Cat Investigation out of her office in the beautiful Palazzo Castellano with the help of her secretary, Nola White, an ex-client Cat took in because she had nowhere else to go, her boyfriend, Erick “Carter” Larsen, and Carter’s father, the wealthy, influential, and shady lawyer, Detrick Bittmor.

In this third installment of the Cat Collier Mystery series, after escaping from captivity in an abandoned train car, Cat stumbles upon a homeless man at the long-deserted train station, who helps her get home to Carter. Detrick discovers he knows this homeless man as the one-time legendary saxophone player who played in the downstairs bar when they were both young and the family embarks on rehabilitating the sax player and reopening the bar, “The Blues.”

A cute, cozy whodunit.

By SNOOPYREVIEWER

The presence of Carter, Cat, and Nola is having a profound effect on Detrick Bittmore in a positive way. The author has softened the once crotchety and rather crooked attorney.
Once again we are treated to a novella that is full of romance, humor, and a bit of action. I could not put this book down and enjoyed every word. This is another five-star read!

After a depressing year of sadness, loneliness, and self-doubt, successful civil engineer and former All-American basketball star Elizabeth (Betsy) Curry returns home to Oakville, Ohio, for the Christmas holidays a depressed and broken woman. Reeling from her bitter divorce from the handsome, charming, but morally decrepit Tommy DeMalio, her college sweetheart and first big love, who left her after two years of what she thought was a good marriage for a stripper he met at an office bachelor party for her co-worker, Betsy feels lost and empty. Not exactly anticipating the happy holiday with her family and their multitude of joyful Christmas customs and long-time storybook-like traditions, she knows she needs them in order to heal.
Once comfortable at home and feeling somewhat better about herself, Tommy shows up and claims he wants a reconciliation, throwing her back into the self-destructive cycle of doubt, hostility, and suspicion she is trying so hard to escape.
She discovers her father has set her up with his protégé at work, the tall, handsome, athletic red-haired Patrick, who, try as hard as she can, she can’t find a single thing she doesn’t like about him.
So, what’s the problem? Betsy feels it’s too soon for her to love again. How can she love anyone again when she doesn’t like herself or what she’s become since the break-up? Also, she fears she will hurt the sweet, gentle Patrick.
Will the love, joy, and goodwill of the holiday season coupled with the many long-time holiday customs and Curry family traditions help Betsy to find herself again? Will she be strong enough to lift herself out of her self-induced prison so that she can take another chance on love?

Marilyn S Creagan

Heartwarming Anytime

Betsy Curry needs all the comfort and security of being with her family this Christmas after she divorced her cheating husband. What she’s not sure she needs is their help in finding a boyfriend! this story is a realistic peek into the home of a loving family during the days leading up to Christmas. Kaufman’s knack for heartwarming storytelling shines through.

I loved this story!

This was an amazing story full of romance and a chance encounter.
Evangeline hasn’t seen her family for Christmas for 10 years and because of problems in her New York office decides to go home to Canada. On the way, a snowstorm hits and she stays at a hotel until the storm is over.
One reason she didn’t want to go home and she was afraid she would run into her ex-boyfriend.
She runs into much more.
I highly recommend this book!
