“There are a lot of intricately woven elements to this story that suck you in to the very end.” – A Thief in the Night: A Tale of Grimm Portent (A Fairy Tale Retelling) (The Never Lands Saga) by Andi Lawencovna

Sometimes it takes a criminal to save a life. Eskild Fontaein should never have returned to his hometown. He could have stayed in the city where he was respected and admired, but no, he’d wanted to come home. And as the newly appointed town magistrate, the only way to be taken seriously was to be feared. Hanging a thief should fit the bill. He hadn’t wanted to do it. Wished he’d found another way. Sometimes, wishes do come true. Jaias Alvaldene, the scourge of Undcrest, madwoman, villain, thief, is dead. Well, not quite. It helps to have friends in high places, namely on the steps of the gallows when one’s about to be hung from a rope. She would have stayed dead too, if not for the town Magistrate who seemed so forlorn at her demise. What’s a good thief to do when a magistrate comes crying? When a young girl is stolen by a horde of cannibals, there’s only one person to ask for aid in rescuing her. Once a Thief, Always a thief…Can Eskild convince Jaias to help him find the child before it’s too late? Or will he lose everything to his Thief in the Night?

Myths made real….

A peculiar and strange, but fascinating story! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It sort of reminded me of something along the lines of the movie, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. You know which movie I am talking about, right? 😊 There are a lot of intricately woven elements to this story that suck you in to the very end. Myths made real…
“Do you know why it is so dangerous to try and charm a snake, Magistrate?…Because the snake is as charming as the magician thinks he is.”
I do like that it is a paranormal type of book but it is not outlandish in the slightest. It is subtle enough that it lets your imagination run wild while continuing on with the story. This is definitely a page turner and believe me, you won’t be able to put this one down. I look forward to reading more by this author.

“I highly recommend this book and the whole series if you love some fantastic characters, an amazing world, epic battle scenes, and of course dragons and maybe a pinch of magic.” – Rosinanti: Wrath of the Faithful (The Rosinanti Series Book 2) by Kevin J. Kessler

Valentean Burai and Seraphina Kackritta barely escaped the grip of chaos. Only by working together were these two lifelong soul mates able to combat the greatest threat the world of Terra has ever known.

But when they find themselves separated, with the entire world turned against them, both princess and animus warrior must battle not only the forces of chaos and darkness that seek to end their world but their own crippling doubts and fears.

Valentean must also face the horrifying truth of himself. He is one of the last surviving members of the Rosinanti race and holds within him world-destroying power, and the unwanted uncontrollable ability to transform into a fearsome dragon.

The struggle of man vs. beast is not limited to the battlefield. Valentean will wage that war internally, within the confines of his own conflicted heart.

But, in the end, who is stronger? The man, or the dragon?

Things are just getting started for the Faithful……As it shall burn

*Sigh* Wrath…..One Book. One Thousand Feelings. This is so true for Wrath which is the second installment to
Rosinanti (Which I so cannot pronounce if I had to say this out loud lol) This novel is quite a bit longer than Ros and is packed with so many emotions. I truly feel like I can read this a billion times and still not be tired of the world Kevin created. Wrath is undeniably so much different than Rosinanti. It just is so much more. Words truly cannot explain how amazing Wrath is. I tend to get stuck in Terra sometimes which I have no regrets about. I don’t want to leave that world.

This novel continues on right where Ros leaves off…so without a doubt read in order. Sera truly shines in this one as does Maura to show that these women are not one to mess with at all. They both can hold there own in any type of battle or element. My Kay is truly a beautiful man to hate in this book. Kay and Val truly do have some epic battle scenes in this going blow to blow. If you couldn’t tell, I’m partial to Kay a tad more than Val. Aleksandra my wicked role model. All I can say is she is the center of one of my favorite scenes that I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of. We do have some new characters in this novel as well which are perfect and fit in quite well with this main group. Let me just say also I’m waiting for Zouka to die a horrible death and patience is not a virtue with me!

I literally can ramble on and on about Wrath but I probably shouldn’t. I will say you can without a doubt, see how Kevin J Kessler has grown as a writer creating this incredible world you just cannot get enough of. His battle scenes are much more epic, and just his overall style has suppressed Rosinanti by far. Ros is a fantastic debut novel which should be read before Wrath but you for sure want to get to this book next. Since this is a series, I sadly do have to wait to see what is next for these characters and to see what’s in store for this world.

I highly recommend this book and the whole series if you love some fantastic characters, an amazing world, epic battle scenes, and of course dragons and maybe a pinch of magic.

“An intense, action-packed introduction to an inspired new fantasy world” – Rosinanti (The Rosinanti Series Book 1) by Kevin J. Kessler

The Rosinanti Dragons are no more. Since their extinction nearly one thousand years ago these primal powerhouses have fallen into the obscurity of history’s forgotten lore. In that time, humans have come to dominate the world of Terra, peacefully ignorant to one horrifying truth: ancient evil stirs around them, waiting to reclaim its lost world.

For Valentean Burai, animus warrior of the kingdom of Kackritta, the details surrounding humanity’s victory over the Rosinanti are more than just a history lesson. The long-buried mysteries of this archaic conflict may hold the answers that he has so desperately sought regarding his own past.

As the awful truth of the Rosinanti’s supposed demise comes to light, Valentean must stand together with Seraphina, a magically gifted princess, to embark upon a mission to maintain order and light throughout Terra. Only together can these two lifelong friends face down the resurgence of the Rosinanti legacy, and combat the greatest threat their world has ever known.

An intense, action-packed introduction to an inspired new fantasy world

Kevin Kessler’s debut work, Rosinanti comes out swinging with a bold and breathtaking tale that iterates on traditional fantasy tropes with elegant cosmology, engaging back-story, and characters that truly speak with passion and individuality.
The plot twists and turns in unexpected ways, and the forces of light and darkness, chaos and order battle it out in fast-paced, visceral combat. The mistakes you typically see in a debut work are overshadowed by the tangible, youthful energy propelling the story forward and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
If you like the battles of Brent Weeks, the epic scale of Brandon Sanderson, or the intelligent twists of Rothfuss, check out Rosinanti!

“Once again, Lawrencovna delivers an imaginative, well-written tale with Forevermore.” – Forevermore: A Once and Future Legend (The NeverLands Saga) by Andi Lawrencovna

There is an ancient story, of a sorceress who lived deep within the waters of an enchanted lake and guarded with her presence a sword which Destiny had decreed would be used for the salvation of mankind, or for its downfall. But the sword did not always live in the Waters…And before it was struck in stone to await its fated bearer, the sorceress and her prince imbued the blade with its magic and its fortitude. In the kingdom of Gouldaria, those without magic are the lowest of casts one can fall in, unless you are a Soul Eater, and then you are worse by far. Valislava never used her magic to steal a soul. She has kept herself hidden, allowed herself to be shunned, lived in exile, all but for the love of the one man who she couldn’t have. Prince Talyessin always knew who and what his Isla was, and he loved her still. But love was a meaningless thing when war threatened to tear them apart.

Another great read! Once again, Lawrencovna delivers an imaginative, well-written tale with Forevermore.

And, once again, I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint being that it was just too short (yes, I knew it was supposed to be, but found myself hoping for more.) Lawrencovna is a delightful writer, and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.

A strange but excellent standalone story that I highly recommend!

This was a very interesting standalone story in the author’s fairytales series and a very strange one! With lots of drama, tension, action, and some romance too, it makes for a great read.

Dr. Laura Martin, Chief Extraterrestrial Life Scientist at The Touchstone Institute of Oceanographic Research, noticed troubling but subtle changes in the Atlantic Ocean. Before she could make sense of it all, her longtime assistant abruptly walked out. Laura hired young, handsome Scott Conner to be her personal assistant. Mayhem ensued, mainly because of Zara, the mermaid/siren/monster in the basement of the Touchstone Institute, who eyed on Scott as her possible mate in a plot for total domination of planet Earth.“The Touchstone Institute of Oceanographic Research is the most fantastic, exhilarating place on the planet to work. It is high-energy, exciting, sometimes maddening, often frightening, heart-pounding work. It’s not a job. It’s a lifetime commitment. It gets in your blood. It grabs you by the throat and possesses you, body and soul. And it is work. If you’re not prepared to work your ass off day in and day out, weekends, holidays, your birthday, and your mamma’s birthday, leave now.”

Thrilling.

This is a unique read, being a blend of science fiction with romance and a touch of mystery thrown in for good measure. The mermaid in this story is an alien and the last of her species kept in a special tank at Touchstone, a secure institute for the study of aliens. This is not the fabulous creature sitting on a rock, combing her hair, and looking in her mirror while she sings to hapless mariners, she is much darker and way more dangerous. Laura is the scientist in charge, and everyone wants to work with her, including Scott, who though overqualified, begs her for a place. What happens next is unexpected and thrilling. Who will survive and who will not? A great read.

“An excellent short story that introduces the reader to so many of the characters we meet in the main series, as well as setting the scene for the series.” – The First Ball: A Charming Short Story (The Never Lands Saga) by Andi Lawrencovna

In the Never Lands, Birthday Celebrations tend to be a little more festive than in other worlds. No silly little parties with only family and friends, but rather grand balls with princes and princesses and assassins, oh my.
What’s a ball without some intrigue?
Have a Happy Birthday with Prince Christophe as he celebrates in The First Ball.
Fairy Tales just got a little bit darker.

Lolah

A great introductory short story, ideal to read before the series (though great anytime!)

The story of the first of Prince Kit’s Birthday Balls, at which he is targeted by assassins whilst in the gardens with a friend. This incident is referred to in later books. An excellent short story that introduces the reader to so many of the characters we meet in the main series, as well as setting the scene for the series. Despite its short length, it’s still full of action, drama, great story and is a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended, and I’d definitely say to read this before reading the Charming books.

Once Upon a Time…No, not once upon a time, because this is no fairy tale, and a thief doesn’t deserve a Happily-Ever-After. – The Raven Thief: A Grimm Retelling by Andi Lawrencovna

#amwriting, #novel, #mswl, #romanticfantasy, #darkfantasy, #paranormalfantasy

Once Upon a Time…No, not once upon a time, because this is no fairy tale, and a thief doesn’t deserve a Happily-Ever-After. This is the story of a woman who thought she could have whatever she wanted without consequences, and in the stealing, lost the one thing she wanted most. It’s the story of the man she left behind, who could never let her go. Only this time, if he fights to stay with her, it could mean more than just their deaths, but that of their world. Orali never thought that Diorlin would agree to work with her again, and even if he did, that he would never feel the way he had in the past for her, or that her feelings wouldn’t have changed either. If only love were enough to fight against the power of The Raven Thief.
