It’s 2052 and Earth has lost two-thirds of its population to the Great War. Many more lives were lost to earthquakes, the Clover Virus, and the Death Plague. Years later, survivors were clumped into factions. Two of the factions, the Guild and the Brotherhood, have fought over medical supplies and food for years. The fight is coming to a head as manpower dwindles, and the struggle becomes one to gain numbers, even if said numbers are children…
Griffin Storm is hiding out in Underground Atlanta. He’s an albino man that can manipulate glass and crystal, and he uses his special abilities to raid warehouses and old buildings for food and supplies for the abandoned children that live underground. During a raid, he meets Tassta Vinetti, a resident of the Brotherhood fortress. He is taken to the fortress and chaos ensues as Tassta, her twin brother Penn, and her uncle, try to keep their new visitor and his untold powers a secret.
Griffin is the only survivor of the Guild’s deadly experiments, and they hunt for him because his survival will have dynamic consequences on the world. The Guild believes that Griffin will transform into a G.O.D., a genetically enhanced Omni-dimensional being with limitless abilities.
Will Griffin transform into a G.O.D.? Will he save the children of the Underground from their tragic life? Only time will tell…

Intriguing and suspenseful
A friend recommended this book to me, and I found it to be an incredibly exciting dystopian adventure. The characters are well defined, and there’s a lovely slow-building romance.
The main character, and Blood Master, Griffin, is complex and kind. Griffin is a survivor. Not only of the Great War, Clover Virus and Death Plague but also of the cruel experiments from the evil Guild Faction.
I found myself breathlessly rooting for Griffin as he struggles to hide his identity, undergo a transformation, all while protecting orphaned children and the woman he loves.

An interesting take on a dystopian world that drew me in from the first chapter.
An interesting take on a dystopian world that drew me in from the first chapter. The main characters are fleshed out so well that we follow their exploits with great interest. The details we are given about their lives, their thoughts, and their feelings make them real for the reader, and that’s exactly what I look for in a book.
The story itself is complicated but intriguing, keeping me glued to the pages to find out what happens next. I won’t give anything away, but let’s just say that I am rooting for the albino! If Book Two is half as good as this one, it will be a wonderful adventure indeed.

I like a book that sucks you in quickly and this …
I will start by saying don’t give up once you start this book. I had a bit of difficulty getting involved. I like a book that sucks you in quickly and this one didn’t do that. Ms. Campbell lays out her story slowly, but once the action takes off you will be transported. It’s an action-filled post-dystopian adventure, with a bit of romance, jealousy, and friction between the factions.
A refreshing and fascinating book. I liked that Tassta and Griffin had a romance but that it didn’t overwhelm the story. It was in the background and built over time. The book starts off slowly as we learn the different for lack of a better word factions and the main characters. Penn is awesome. He’s so loyal and protective but he also brings a lightness to the story. Lerin is interesting he is the only elderly character but he’s also wise and contemplative. He has compassion and a good leader. Dean was a little wary of. He is kind but you have to wonder as a scientist if he will betray Griffin unconsciously in any way. Sylmar something is wrong with him but he’s hiding it from Griffin so he doesn’t worry. He’s a compassionate leader who deserves a better life. The assay is an enigma really. She shows strength and yet is weak. Stubbornness and yet vulnerable and at times she can be frustrating. She loves Griffin and shows unwavering support to Griffin. Griffin is really this book’s focus. He is the key to everything. He’s kind and compassionate but also if he chooses very very dangerous. He sacrifices to help children and finds joy in doing this and being near them. Griffin is the blood master and this book deals with his acceptance of that and his transformation. It’s the transformation that is startling. He becomes something ethereal and angelic but also deadly. He must learn control of his lusts and abilities in order to stay who he is and also not cause harm.
We are introduced to Tassta, she is a young woman trying to find her place in the new world and make her mark. She wants to be a Guardian of the Brotherhood, the first female member. She has been promised a place once she accomplishes a few more missions. On a mission, she is almost found by the Guild. She is kept safe by a mysterious albino. Much to her surprise, he is able to talk to her telekinetically. Griffin Storm is the mysterious young man, they are both attracted to one another but he quickly disappears once he knows that Tassta is safe. This all changes upon returning to their fortress and finding that her brother has captured him. Thinking perhaps he is the savior of mankind as foreseen in a profession.
Ms. Campell’s characters are well developed, her writing will pull you into her world that is fraught with danger, learning to love, happiness and angst. She has created a world that is both unique and spellbinding. You will fall in love with Griffin and hope he can find all he needs in this new world that may or may not accept him, make him their own and appreciate his gifts as well as what he may do to protect the future.
If you are in the market for an intriguing YA – Dystopian adventure – I highly recommend this one.

And Tassta realizes she is falling in love with him
In Blood Master by Kirsten Campbell, Atlanta has been completely leveled by an earthquake, rendering Underground Atlanta a refuge shelter. The displaced people who have survived the devastation of the earthquakes, the Death Plague, and the Clover Virus are forced to forage for supplies. Tassta and her brother Penn are on a raid to locate supplies for the Brotherhood Fortress, a unit of resistance against the cruel Guild Faction, when they encounter Griffin Storm. Griffin is the only known albino left, all the others having died in the Guild Faction’s experiments. As they take Griffin in (he was injured in the raid), they come to realize that he may be the one prophesized to defeat the Guild Faction. And Tassta realizes she is falling in love with him. Griffin is torn between staying at the Brotherhood Fortress with Tassta or returning to the Underground to the children in his care and his best friend, Waylene. Things become more complicated when Griffin begins to undergo a ‘transformation.’
Ms. Campbell’s ability to develop characters is incredible. She makes you want to pull the characters out of the book and talk with them. Griffin is without a doubt the single most sympathetic character I have ever encountered in a novel. He goes through all kids of hell, including a “dipping” experiment at the Guild Faction and the Death Plague. The poor guy just wants a regular life! Is that too much to ask for? And just when you think things might finally start to settle down for him, he starts to “transform.” Why, oh why, can’t he just have a normal life with the woman he loves? He has certainly earned it. The reader will root for Griffin and Tassta the whole way, and can’t help but hope things turn out well for them.
This book also has a completely satisfying ending that makes you want to read the next book, which I will get to very soon! I will never be able to go to Atlanta again without thinking of Griffin and Tassta.

What an imagination!!
I could not put this book down!!! I loved Tassta and Griffin and how they interact with each other.
Griffin has a loving relationship with the abandoned children and does everything he can for them. Then he runs into Tassta when each of them goes out to forage for food and supplies.
You have to read this fantastic book!!
I highly recommend it!

very good storyline
I am not one to leave long reviews. As a reader, I either liked it or not. Few fall in the middle. This book is definitely a like!
Set in the future, Blood Master took me on a journey that surprised me, as well as, brought me great entertainment. I was able to relate to all the main characters and followed the story without a problem. The details given in this book was well thought out and researched. I was drawn into a world where the future has met devastation and, yet, there is a plan about to unfold to bring forth hope and to reunite people by eliminating evil that is out and about.

Blood Master Book 1

The most amazing book I have ever read!
It’s a perfect book looking into future, I was thrilled to bits when I read about Griffin transforming into a G.O.D.
Though Lerin seems to be far more advanced in technical and telepathic, he seems to be more humble and wants Griffin to be the savior.
Most probably he wants the way it has been prophesied.
The curiosity of mine has increased and can’t wait for the next one to find out what really happens as Griffin had a vision about Dean becoming instrumental in final destruction. In chapter 21 he did see the vision, but still, Griffin did depend on Dean and to divulge all his feelings and ongoing transformation within himself. I am curious to know what Griffin’s plan of action is. Can’t wait…
Of all the personality Tassta takes ranks the best. It’s my feeling that she is the ultimate female for mankind with all the womanly virtues and still totally independent. Her greatest sacrifice is when she decided that she is ready to go along with whatever the future holds for her with Griffin even after knowing all his drawbacks when he divulges all his problems, but she decides that she will help him all the way. That’s the real love of a woman.
I admire Penn’s love for his sister and ready to risk everything for her. And his devoted friendship to Griffin.
All in all, I can’t wait to see how all this will take shape in building the future.
My congrats to the author who has the vision of Lerin, the power of Griffin, unfathomable love of Tassta, Curiosity, and adventure of Penn.
Looking forward to the next one to come.

Awesome read!
This book is awesome, fast-paced and gripping. Sci-fi lovers will be thrilled, and there is quite a bit of a love story of the ages brewing! I have two little brothers who are in the middle of reading the books, and they are HOOKED! I can’t wait to continue on this journey with Griffin and Tassta!
