This was my first Emlyn Goode Mystery, but it won’t be my last! Author Susan Lynn Solomon has created a wonderful cozy mystery series, and this holiday novella is a delightful crash course into it.
When the police throw a Christmas bash, it is merry mayhem as everyone is surprised by the grisly secret Santa gift. Although her cop boyfriend tells her repeatedly to stay out of it, Emlyn Good tries to figure out the mystery. After all, where else will she get material for her next book. As the story progresses, readers get to know Emlyn, her family and cats well. While it is clear that the characters have, for the most part, been introduced and developed previously, Ms. Solomon presented her characters in a way that I felt I knew them.
‘Twas The Season is a good holiday cozy mystery that fans of the series are sure to enjoy.

“David’s ADHD is a timely topic for parents and children. A story in rhyme that demystifies ADHD. It explains a youngster’s behavior in terms of his inattentiveness and impulsivity and how it impacts those around him. A sensitive way of creating understanding for children with ADHD and their families.” – Dr. Valerie Allen, licensed school psychologist About the Author: Former teacher Sherrill S. Turn each page beautifully illustrated by Kalpart, and learn a parent’s frustration and a child’s inability to focus. David quickly learns that there is a way to keep organized, make more friends, and get better grades. As a Reading and Writing Specialist, I was so pleased to share this book with my colleagues in school. Today’s classrooms include many students who lack the ability to focus which interrupts their learning. Some are diagnosed with ADHD. Sherrill’s book gives good advice to parents, teachers, and children. I gave a copy of Sherrill’s book to the parent of one of my students because she worried so much about her son. She read the book and today her son is learning to calm and soothe his ADHD. I highly recommend this book that demystifies ADHD for parents, children, and teachers.

Janice Clark5.0 out of 5 stars Another keeper for my bookshelfReviewed in the United States on December 14, 2020Verified PurchaseWith a plot as full of twists and turns as the mazes in Jessie’s nightmares, this paranormal mystery has enough red herrings to stock a fish store. Clues abound, but what do they really mean? You can’t tell the good guys from the bad guys until the maze is run. Warning: if you value a good night’s sleep, don’t start reading this book at bedtime.

There is much to enjoy in this story. Although a follow-on to Indian Summer this is good as a stand-alone. An excellent historical romance easily worth five stars
Such a helpful book! Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2017A wonderful, inspired book! I read it twice, cover to cover. I also purchased several other copies to give as gifts. This book has something for every person in it. When I first started reading it, it opened my eyes to a totally different way to view others and to love others. It is one woman’s journey through trials to finding a relationship with Jesus. I definitely recommend it to women (and men) of all ages.

Well-written piece about the author’s grandfather and his escape from occupied Poland in the early 1900’s. I look forward to more work by this author!
Sherrill S. Cannon’s second book of poetry contains messages written through the years in poetic form that put feelings into words. As a teacher, many of her poems helped counsel troubled teens and friends.
There are three sections in the book: Heads, Spinning, and Tails … (Love & Loss: Coin Toss?). The variety of lyrical poetry forms include free verse, blank verse, haiku, and sonnets, while some are just playing with words!
Hopefully, this is also a book of healing.
M. M. Bishop Award-winning author and poet5.0 out of 5 stars THE FINEST POEMS OF OUR GENERATIONReviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019Verified PurchaseA Dime is a Sign: Poems of Love and Loss (Feelings Into Words) by Sherrill S. Cannon walks us through emotions that we all feel. It is a glorious collection of some of the most beautiful poems of our generation. There wasn’t one that didn’t strike some cord in my heart and soul, to lie there and make me weep for loss or fill my heart with the glory of love. Some of those that struck me the deepest were ‘Wall of Apprehension,’ a poem of fear to allow another in. Perhaps, the other will reject what you are, or you will feel by their response that you were a bother. ‘You, Friendship – I Love,’ helped me to realize that my shutting others out, for fear that my gestures would be mistaken for something else and I would find despair in the trying. And ‘Premature Goodbye,’ hit a chord deep in me for all those that I walked away from or that walked away from me, without the chance of explanation or renewal. Ms. Cannon, outdid herself ‘A Dime is a Sign’ for she speaks directly to our hearts and souls. Whether it be a love poem or a poem of loss and sadness, this book holds something that will touch everyone. It is a book to be cherished, reread, and savored time and again, for, in it, we will find our common humanity, our dreams of love, fear of loss and rejection, the joy of being, and we will grow more fully as humans.
