Great Reads
This was such a surprising read. I was expecting a suspenseful romance but it really was a thrill ride full of unexpected twists. The characters are unique and nothing is as it seems. Even the secondary characters grab your attention. As the story unfolded I truly loved that there were stakes that went so far beyond will they won’t fall in love. That said the romance was perfect. There was a bond there that surpassed the natural and really Mark was just the perfect man. I look forward to reading more from this author soon. If you want a romance that is high in suspense yet still manages that sweet romantic feeling this is your book.

Calder made mistakes he would pay for, though he didn’t think it would be with his life. He quickly learned that everything he believed about dying wasn’t true, after all.
From the author of The Peace of Pi, and Ending in V, comes a haunting new tale that will keep you turning the pages, to the unexpected ending.

She takes a job as a photographer for a historical magazine and is drawn to Kenneth MacKalvey, an older British author whom she has admired from afar. Their mutual attraction is instantaneous. But they are opposites in every way. Twists and turns at every corner heighten the suspense in this village mystery. Will his dark and shady past cause Michelle to run away? A love story I couldn’t put down.

I love Kauffman’s Time After Time Series. MacKalvey House is my favorite so far.
Kauffman has a fantastic imagination and places these two lovers in different times and different situations. MacKalvey House is current times and takes place in England.
I think the characters interact perfectly, whether it be good or bad and make you feel for them.
I look forward to reading many more Time After Time books by Kauffman.

If you are familiar with Michael Bussa’s writing, Lettie’s Plight will not disappoint you. Settings are always researched and blend with the story. This story is early Victorian set in England, following the life of a young, poor girl. I won’t spoil the story – but it has its share of twists to keep your attention to the end.
