“I wasn’t sure what X and Oliver’s story would involve, and I wasn’t expecting some of the twists in the book, but they just made the story even better.” – Games We Play (Nice Ink Book 4) by Trish Edmisten

Everyone else can fall in love and live happily ever after, but Xavier Owens doesn’t plan on doing the same. With a successful business, plenty of friends, and no shortage of willing bed partners, he always thought he had everything he needed. The only thing missing in his life is someone to share his kink, but that’s not going to happen. The last time Xavier let someone into that part of his life left him with a bruised ego and a broken heart. While both have long since mended, he’s not interested in falling in love again. Fate has other plans in the form of sweet and shy Oliver Nice. There’s something about the man that draws Xavier to him like a moth to a flame. Hopefully, this time he won’t get burned. This is a 78K word novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA. Although it’s part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Exactly what I was hoping for!

I have read (and loved) each of the previous Nice Ink books, and this was no exception. I wasn’t sure what X and Oliver’s story would involve, and I wasn’t expecting some of the twists in the book, but they just made the story even better. The simple joy of the characters in each other was heartwarming, especially in these uncertain times. I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

“I don’t have enough words to express how wonderful this book was to read.!” – Ride or Die (Nice Ink Book 2) by Trish Edmisten

Line Blurb

Flynn Murphy doesn’t need a man, especially not the cocky and confident Derek Nice. So what if Derek is a cop? Flynn learned a long time ago that just because someone is supposed to do the right thing doesn’t mean he will. Trusting someone is a mistake he’s never-repeating again. Derek isn’t worried that Flynn isn’t letting him get close yet. All Derek needs is one chance to show Flynn how good they can be together. And he’s not stopping until he gets it. This is a 78K word story with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA.
Trigger Warning: This story deals with childhood sexual abuse. All instances occur off-page but are discussed in detail by the MC.

Truly amazing

I don’t have enough words to express how wonderful this book was to read! The characters were funny, emotional, and inspirational. The storyline flowed and it wasn’t done to keep engaged. Derek “Ricky” was amazing. He was sexy and patient with Flynn and that made their love story more worthwhile. I don’t plan to go any further into details. This author did a phenomenal job with the sex scenes as well as the day-to-day interactions.

I look forward to reading more of her books.

“Damien was sweet and Kiel was irresistible.” – This Could Work (Nice Ink Book 5) by Trish Edmisten

Damian Bishop thought he found love once, but he was wrong. Suffering one heartbreaking loss after another, he’s done with men. Sure, it’s lonely sometimes, but he’s got a good job, great friends, and a cat. What more does he need?

Kiel Nice feels the same. Why settle for one man when the sexy firefighter can have any man he wants?

Fate, and their friends and family, have other plans for these two. There’s only so many times they can be thrown together before the chemistry between them becomes too much to ignore. And maybe just maybe the thing they’ve always been most afraid of? Maybe this could work.

This is the final novel in the Nice Ink series. It’s a 70K word novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA despite a few bumps along the way. Although it’s part of a series, each book follows a different couple and can be read as a standalone.

Charming story!

Great finale to the Nice Ink series (though the author hinted that X’s little brother Bailey would get his own story). Damien was sweet and Kiel was irresistible. :). All the guys from the previous stories were there, including the irrepressible Cooper and growly X.
Loved it!

Sexy Cop and Sweet Tattoo Artist

Oh my god. This book. All the feels. ALL. THE. FEELS. After running across the recommendation for Trish Edmisten in another author’s Facebook group I read book one in the Nice Ink series. After finishing that book (a five-star read) I immediately grabbed this book and devoured it! Derek and Flynn, the main characters of this book, were introduced in book one. Derek is a cop (a hot gay guy with handcuffs) and Flynn is a tattoo artist (hot gay guy covered in ink). Derek initially meets Flynn when he gets a tattoo from one of Flynn’s coworkers (who ends up dating Derek’s brother), and is immediately attracted to him. Flynn is attracted to Derek but is resistant to becoming involved with anyone. Flynn is an abuse victim and his feelings about attraction and sex are very complicated. Flynn is “coerced” into a date with Derek, but finds himself enjoying the date. Derek quickly realizes he must approach his relationship with Flynn differently. He makes Flynn realize that he wants more from him than just sex. He wants all that Flynn has to offer.I absolutely devoured this book. I stayed up too late, was reading at work, and sitting in my car on my lunch break to finish this book. Flynn is such a sensitive soul. He suffered so much in his childhood. He fought for himself and has overcome so much. Derek is a self-assured, openly gay cop. He is naturally protective and is devoted to his family. Ms. Edmisten did such an amazing job building, describing, and bringing these characters to life. The understanding, compassion, and support that Derek showed to Flynn brought literal tears to my eyes. And of course, the sexy times are HOT HOT HOT! And there is a HEA for this amazing couple. I can’t recommend this book and this series enough! Read it now!!

So Very Wonderful!

Flynn and Derek were wonderful!!! I loved book 1 in the Nice Ink series and Ride or Die was even better than book 1!
Finally reading Flynn’s heartbreaking history totally explained his mysterious behavior from earlier. His guarded hope when he decided to give Derek a chance was so sweet and emotional. I loved Derek’s understanding and patience with Flynn! His devotion and determination to win over Flynn were so fun to read. The author did a great job with balancing fun, steam, chemistry, and family with this book. I’m so anxious to read the next book in the series!
