Can Heath and Ned find a way to overcome the demons of their pasts, or is it insane to try? – Nice Ink (5 book series) by Trish Edmisten

#romanceauthor #contemporary romance #romancewriter #newadultromance

From Book 1:

For the last five years, Heath Mitchell’s only priority has been running a successful tattoo shop. Relationships haven’t been on his radar, but as his thirtieth birthday gets closer, Heath realizes just how lonely he is. Like an answer to his prayers, Ned Nice comes into his shop. Despite the instant attraction between them, a dark secret in Ned’s past makes him afraid to get too close to Heath. Ned isn’t the only one with secrets though. Heath is hiding a secret so big it could be a deal breaker. Can Heath and Ned find a way to overcome the demons of their pasts, or is it insane to try?

Author’s Note: This is a 91,000 word novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA. Trigger warning: Mentions of prior sexual assault.

From Book 2:

Flynn Murphy doesn’t need a man, especially not the cocky and confident Derek Nice. So what if Derek is a cop? Flynn learned a long time ago that just because someone is supposed to do the right thing doesn’t mean he will. Trusting someone is a mistake he’s never repeating again.

Derek isn’t worried that Flynn isn’t letting him get close yet. All Derek needs is one chance to show Flynn how good they can be together. And he’s not stopping until he gets it.

From Book 3:

Cooper Mitchell isn’t what most men expect. Most men see his silver hair and dressed up dog and assume he’s a sassy little bottom. Cooper may be sassy, but he’s nobody’s bottom boy. That’s just fine with Roger Nice. All it takes is one look and Roger knows Cooper is everything he wants, but can Cooper be the type of Dom he needs? Or are there some things that are just too much to ask? Roger doesn’t think so, at least he hopes not, but will Cooper agree?

Note: This is the third book in the series. While it can be read as a standalone, the other two books should be read first for maximum enjoyment. No cheating, no cliffhangers and a guaranteed HEA.

This is a 78K word story with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA.
Trigger Warning: This story deals with childhood sexual abuse. All instances occur off page but are discussed in detail by the MC.

From Book 4:

Everyone else can fall in love and live happily ever after, but Xavier Owens doesn’t plan on doing the same. With a successful business, plenty of friends, and no shortage of willing bed partners, he always thought he had everything he needed. The only thing missing in his life is someone to share his kink, but that’s not going to happen. The last time Xavier let someone into that part of his life left him with a bruised ego and a broken heart. While both have long since mended, he’s not interested in falling in love again. Fate has other plans in the form of sweet and shy Oliver Nice. There’s something about the man that draws Xavier to him like a moth to a flame. Hopefully, this time he won’t get burned.

This is 78K word novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA. Although it’s part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

From Book 5:

Damian Bishop thought he found love once, but he was wrong. Suffering one heartbreaking loss after another, he’s done with men. Sure, it’s lonely sometimes, but he’s got a good job, great friends, and a cat. What more does he need?

Kiel Nice feels the same. Why settle for one man when the sexy firefighter can have any man he wants?

Fate, and their friends and family, have other plans for these two. There’s only so many times they can be thrown together before the chemistry between them becomes too much to ignore. And maybe just maybe the thing they’ve always been most afraid of? Maybe this could work.

This is the final novel in the Nice Ink series. It’s a 70K word novel with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA despite a few bumps along the way. Although it’s part of a series, each book follows a different couple and can be read as a standalone.

Going insane

I’m loving these Nice men and their journey to love. I was happy to read Derek’s story but the one I’m truly interested in is Ollie’s story and Xavier. This book was the same as the first one. Just as funny, just as entertaining and just as cute.

From Book 3:

Loved from start to finish

There is not one thing I didn’t love about this book. I’ve gone back to it 4 times already. Funny, sweet, and sexy from start to finish. A total win! Can’t wait for Games We Play!!!

From Book 4:

Awww this book!

I love all the Nice brothers but I had a special place for Oliver. He was the nerd, who wrote books and was super quiet and kept a secret from his brothers. He just pulled at me. X is the big and bad tattoo artist! I love the arguments over songs, all the t-shirts I want to own, between the brothers and the artists, and i love the rapport they have! They all give each other a hard time out of love. I love Oliver’s parents and how obsessed his dad is with a tattoo and how his mom is just on top of things with him. Like all their relationships are so unique, X and Ollie, his parents, X with the shop, and the Nice Brothers I love them all!
I cant wait for the next story!!

From Book 5:

Charming story!

Great finale to the Nice Ink series (though the author hinted that X’s little brother Bailey would get his own story). Damien was sweet and Kiel was irresistible. :). All the guys from the previous stories were there, including the irrepressible Cooper and growly X.
Loved it!

So hot and so worth it!!

I have been waiting for X and Oliver and this book did not disappoint. From the first page I was hooked, the promise of porn dancing, the Daddy kink, Trish gave me exactly what I needed. This book was so hot, X was just what Oliver needed to keep him grounded and blow his mind (and other things). I loved the steam, but there was also emotion that totally gave me the feels. I will read this book over and over again. A definite keeper!

Roger and Cooper

I love love love this series!!!! Roger or Gerry has met his match in Cooper. Cooper is wonderful with all his tattoos, his piercings (wink wink) and Prince Harry! There is nothing like a big man with a little dog! I love the music choices based on whose day it is, the brothers group chats, the phone calls with the parents, and the funny tshirts. There is so much good stuff in this book. Roger is such a Nice guy and I loved him. Even his secret!!
I almost cried in this book and when you get to that scene you’ll know but damn!
Still good though! I love the Nice quints and the men they fall for. Cant wait for book 4!

Ride or Die is the second book in this series and gives us Flynn and Derek’s intense romance hinted at in book one. Flynn has had it rough growing up and Derek is very patient with him, knowing something bad happened to cause the huge walls Flynn throws up to Derek. But Derek knows if he can break those walls down, he and Flynn can find something special. This is a slow burn but once it gets ignited, watch out for the flames! I can’t wait for the next story in this series!

JL Austin

Sexy Cop and Sweet Tattoo Artist

Oh my god. This book. All the feels. ALL. THE. FEELS. After running across the recommendation for Trish Edmisten in another author’s Facebook group I read book one in the Nice Ink series. After finishing that book (a five-star read) I immediately grabbed this book and devoured it! Derek and Flynn, the main characters of this book, were introduced in book one. Derek is a cop (hot gay guy with handcuffs) and Flynn is a tattoo artist (hot gay guy covered in ink). Derek initially meets Flynn when he gets a tattoo from one of Flynn’s coworkers (who ends up dating Derek’s brother), and is immediately attracted to him. Flynn is attracted to Derek but is resistant to become involved with anyone. Flynn is an abuse victim and his feelings about attraction and sex are very complicated. Flynn is “coerced” into a date with Derek, but finds himself enjoying the date. Derek quickly realizes he must approach his relationship with Flynn differently. He makes Flynn realize that he wants more from him than just sex. He wants all that Flynn has to offer.I absolutely devoured this book. I stayed up too late, was reading at work, and sitting in my car on my lunch break to finish this book. Flynn is such a sensitive soul. He suffered so much in his childhood. He fought for himself and has overcome so much. Derek is a self-assured, openly gay cop. He is naturally protective and is devoted to his family. Ms. Edmisten did such an amazing job building, describing, and bringing these characters to life. The understanding, compassion, and support that Derek showed to Flynn brought literal tears to my eyes. And of course, the sexy times are HOT HOT HOT! And there is a HEA for this amazing couple. I can’t recommend this book and this series enough! Read it now!!
