CURL UP WITH A GREAT READ–MA’IITSOH BY JO PILSWORTH

Adam Anghelescu is the lawyer of the Anghelescu Pack, tasked with ensuring that a Hellhound Pack stays under the radar of the authorities. If matters becomes sticky, his Alpha has ensured he has the training and the contacts to … unstick the issue at hand. When Fane asks Adam to carry out a straightforward burglary to secure key information in the ongoing skirmish to keep Lamashtu Anzillu contained, Adam agrees it shouldn’t pose a problem. But, he didn’t expect to meet Evelyn. He didn’t expect to find someone attempting the same burglary as him. He didn’t expect to find that his target’s niece was his predestined Mate.
Evelyn’s instincts as an investigative reporter told her that something was going down at the home of her Tante, and it wasn’t just the death of Oncle Henri either. But her attempts to discover more are interrupted by a … something, who transported her to the roof of the exclusive Paris mansion. Of all the damn cheek!
A missing link in the family tree, a predestined Mating and a Queen of Hell who is really quite bored with being stuck downstairs. Something has to give. Will it be Adam and Evelyn?

Merysekhmet: A love story … with bite (Diaries of the Cwn Annwn) JO PILSWORTH

GOTTA LOVE A GOOD FANTASY!

Ramses Tariq-Omari has walked the world of man for millennia, serving his Goddess, Sekhmet. A lion shifter, a healer and a soldier, he protects those who know nothing of the paranormal world, of the creatures that seek to harm them. A lonely existence indeed, but one he has never regretted having chosen. Elizabeth DeAnglo is the PA to the CEO of Gosselin Enterprises, who just happens to be the Alpha of the Hellfire Pack. Since the loss of her fiancé and child to a Wendigo attack, she has trained as a paranormal hunter, driven to hunt down the creature responsible. Only then is she certain that she will find peace. Despite living and working with the Hellfire Pack, despite having a family in her fellow paranormal hunters, she is alone, always on the periphery. When she attacked, again, by unknown Hellhounds, Elizabeth wonders why she is being targeted. She also wonders at the identity of the mystery archer who comes to her aid. A millennia-old paranormal warrior and a modern day paranormal hunter. Two sides in opposition, yet fighting the same enemy. The attack will change Elizabeth’s life and force her to face some harsh truths. Can she straddle the worlds of the paranormal and those who hunt them? What will happen if she is forced to choose? Can love overcome the deep-seated prejudice which Ramses will face from Elizabeth’s friends? Merysekhmet is the first novel written by Jo Pilsworth and Kaitlyn Bosch. Please note: this book is intended for a mature (18+) audience.

Fane: Journal of an Alpha Hellhound: paranormal romance with attitude (Diaries of the Cwn Annwn Book 3)

FANE IS A REAL BAD-ASS  READ TO FIND OUT WHY!

Fane Anghelescu, Hellhound Alpha. Over-protective and paranoid, according to his sister. But he swore an oath to a Queen of Hell. He swore to serve body and soul if Lamashtu Anzillu would protect his sister, Roxana.

She’s Hell-born Demon. She broke her oath before the blood was dry on the contract. What happens when Fane finds he has been played?

And if that is not enough, other Hellhound Packs are trying to kill him and annihilate his Pack. And the return of a mystery Pack female, Stefania. Life ain’t simple, that’s certain.Tarian Green4.0 out of 5 stars Something different.

Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2018This is an unusual book as you’re looking through the eyes of Fane a young hellhound raised on the periphery of the pack with his sister Roxana. At the start, the reader gets an insight into the hellhound pack and the struggle for status and dominance. When their mother dies, the Queen sees potential in Fane and trains him to be a successful Alpha. Both brother and sister learn the skills and acquire abilities in preparation for going topside and into the human world. Once he becomes an Alpha, his loyalty is entirely to his queen, and with that, he is tasked with the destruction of the Lupie pack. Fane takes on the traits of a motorbike loving geek, interested in computers and electronics. Likewise, Roxana hides her beauty under baggy clothes and enjoys fixing bikes. Then once above ground, a mysterious visitor Stephania appears and claims to be a previous member of the pack. Fane is suspicious as she could have been turned by another pack but also feels attraction.
This book is an interesting struggle with one’s own pack, other packs and humans. At first, I was confused but so glad I persevered as the story developed into a page-turning adventure. I enjoyed being in such a different world and seeing things from another perspective. Those who enjoyed the ‘Twilight’ series may also enjoy this one.

All round wonderful book.Beta (Diaries of the Cwn Annwn Book 2) JO PILSWORTH

“I had failed my Alpha. I knew this, and mine was the penalty to pay, that I might never know the comfort of my Mate, of finding the other half of my soul. I might dream, of a beautiful white wolf, with eyes of green. I might dream that we ran together under the moonlight, but I would never know her. Or so I thought.”

“It was a letter that started it, from an old friend, a plea for help. A run in the Catskills. An encounter with a white wolf on Cwn Annwn territory. A cop. A Homicide Detective. Her family who saw her only as a marriage prize even in this modern age. But she was mine. Alix was mine. Woe betide any who thought to take her from me.”

Bran Cadwgan is one of two Betas of the Cwn Annwn. He believed he would never be granted a Mate by the Goddess as penance for past mistakes, but discovers that he was wrong. Will he succeed in proving to both her family and his Mate that he is worthy of her sharing his life?

Alix Gosselin is the only daughter of the Gosselin Alpha and his mate. She was the “Gosselin Princess” growing up in an abusive home, until she fled first to attend boarding school and then for a career in law enforcement. Her parents had proven that the myth of a mate who would love and treasure you above all else was just that, a myth. Then, she encountered a biker whilst investigating a series of female disappearances in a suspected sex-trafficking ring. Her life would never be the same again. Alix wants to believe the story she is told by her biker, but she knows her father will not let her ‘throw herself away’ on a ‘mere biker’.

Bran and Alix, both have preconceptions to overcome. Both of them will be faced with challenges. Will the growing bond between them be sufficient?

Based on the legend of the Welsh Cwn Annwn, and incorporating Jo’s love of myth and legend, Beta introduces a cast of Cwn Annwn, wolf shifter and human characters, weaving romance with the contemporary world. Dare you walk in our world?

5.0 out of 5 stars AwesomeReviewed in the United States on January 2, 2019Verified PurchaseI’ve worked my way through this series totally out of order and this is my last part – until more are written (Soon I hope). Even though this takes place earlier in the storyline I was familiar with the charters and it felt like an old chat about history with friends. It is the story of Bran and Alix finding each other. With these unique shifters that is something really special and different to most other shifters who aren’t CWN. Many couples deal with parents but my goodness, Alix’s dad was awful! It was great to get to know Bran on a deeper level and the more I read Alix the more I loved them for each other. This is a wonderful series; it and all of the spin-offs add to rich world with a history and relationships that are much more complex and compelling than the average PNR. One really great thing is that you can read any of them in any order without ruining storyline. I highly recommend them all.

DARE TO WALK IN THEIR WORLD

Can a Welsh legend, born in the 15th century, still be relevant in the 21st century?

“I have walked this world for 410 years, with 170 years having passed since I assumed the role of Alpha of the Cŵn Annwn. In that time, I have seen the world change dramatically from an agrarian society to one where common words include terms like ‘global warming’ due to the pollution levels engendered by mankind’s activities in less than a couple of centuries. I have found my Mate, I have lost close family, and throughout, I have remained true to my promise to my Goddess.”

“I harvest souls.”

“My duty lies with my Goddess, who has tasked me with bringing her the souls of evil-doers. Strange how they seem a tad reluctant to pay for their evil. But there is more to my role than that. For all the evil in the world, there are innocents, and as the gatekeeper to the Underworld, not the Hell that modern religions would suggest, but a place of rest, my Goddess has charged me to bring those for whom a reward for their suffering is due. For them, there is the choice of rest, or rebirth. Most choose rest, and paradise for each is different.”

“I was born Gabriel Black, although for the last few centuries, I have been known as Gavril Negrescu. These are our tales of my Mate and my Pack, our sorrows and our triumphs. Perhaps one day, evil will be no more. I am not holding my breath.”

“Alpha” is the first volume in “The Diaries of the Cwn Annwn” series and may be read as a stand-alone novel. Gavril and his Mate must lead their Pack through an ever changing world. Has mankind evolved enough that they are no longer needed?

WHAT MAKES CASSIMIR GOSSELIN TICK? READ CYSGODION AND FIND OUT! JO PILSWORTH

Casimir Gosselin. If Fane was bad, Casimir was well beyond that. A psychopath and barely leashed by his sire, the Alpha of the Gosselin Pack. If there was one thing on which both the Cwn Annwn and the Anghelescu Hellhounds knew, it was that Casimir Gosselin was their enemy.

You have the picture? I was the personification of psychopathically evil. Strangely enough, the encouragement to write my side of the story has come from my sister, Alix Gosselin, now mated to Bran Cadwgan, Beta of the Cwn Annwn. Now, I could give you some clues. One thing is certain, I am not some sad, misunderstood being. I own what I have done and to whom I have done it. The question is whether you think that what lies in the shadows is justified.

A. J. Kohler4.0 out of 5 stars Casimir isn’t what he seems to beReviewed in the United States on May 27, 2020Verified PurchaseCasimir Gosselin is the middle bastard son of the alpha of the Gosselin pack. His older half-brother is being groomed to be the next pack alpha, assuming their father lets him live that long. Pierre Gosselin is quite a piece of work and not exactly an inspiring father figure. Casimir is in line to be the next beta – but survival is hard in the world of wolf shifters, and in this pack, even tomorrow is not guaranteed, no matter who you are.

Casimir creates the persona of the Psycho Gosselin, a psychopathic killer at Pierre’s orders. He is so convincing in the role that he utterly alienates Alix, his half-sister, to the point that she leaves the pack completely to live among humans.

Times change, and Pierre and Casimir’s older brother are brought to account. Casimir, now largely freed of the need to keep up the masquerade, can begin to bring his plans to fruition and see if he can mend fences with Alix.

There’s going to be a whopper of a story following this one, whether he succeeds or not.

ML Rosado4.0 out of 5 stars Hot and intriguingReviewed in the United States on June 17, 2018Verified PurchaseI loved Josh and Dylann story. A hot US marine with troubled past and struggles meets his perfect match. Dylann is such a lovely character. She is free spirited and seems to be the only one that can tame Josh and all the baggage that he carries. The author was successful in writing a strong paranormal story with romance and multi dimensional characters.

Jo Pilsworth has created a very interesting universe of magical creature, with a prominent role for shifters and paranormal romance. In this book we follow the story of the tormented love at first sight two were-bears. There are many characters from other books who show up in the story, which can make it a little confusing if you’re trying to keep up with who is who. While there is a lot of adventure, the focus is on the romantic relationship between Sergei and Kaitlyn/Karma.
