An excellent book
This book truly touched my heart and made me cry in some spots and cheer in others. To me, this is a must-read book. I appreciate the author for having the guts to write a book on such a sensitive subject.
When his best friend decided to join the Army after high school graduation, there was no question Joel would join too. Best friends since kindergarten, the two of them did everything together, and this was no different. A routine mission changed their lives forever. Slade ended up paralyzed while Joel lost his leg. Joel never expected to live with one leg, but he wasn’t going to let it break him. Like he did with everything else, he adapted, and he accepted that he was never going to find love. Women might want to sleep with a war hero, but they sure as hell don’t want to live with and take care of one. That theory proves true until Courtney comes along. Beautiful, independent Courtney with her wicked sense of humor is the perfect woman for Joel. All he has to do is trust her enough to accept that he doesn’t have to stand on his own anymore.

At the age of eighteen, Slade couldn’t wait to join the Army and get away from the boredom of small-town living. Two years later, his life is irrevocably changed when an IED blast leaves him paralyzed from the waist down. Though he’s back in the one place he was determined to get away from, things could be worse. At least he’s got a good group of friends to help him out, and that will have to be enough. No woman wants to be stuck with a broken man. Then Mac comes crashing into his life, stirring up feelings that Slade never thought he would feel again. As much as he wants her, Slade can’t believe she feels the same. Will his insecurities keep them apart, or will Mac be able to convince Slade she loves him the way he is?
Author’s Note: Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is a 68K word novel with a guaranteed HEA.

Wonderful book in a wonderful series! Must buy! You will fall in love with these characters Trish Edmisten’s New Beginnings series is my absolute favorite and was looking forward to this to be released ever since I read the preview for Ken’s story and saw him in other books. I preordered it the second it went up and was beyond excited to see it in my library this morning. THIS BOOK AND THIS SERIES. I love them so much. They’re so realistic and the dialogue feels authentic and natural and every conversation they have isn’t some poetic monologue. The interpersonal relationships are so REAL and wonderful. And the characters are honest and insightful and I want to be their friends/feel like I am. I’ve been SO excited for Stone’s story since I started the series and this book made me even more excited and fall more in love with Joss. Love Cassandra and Ken’s story ❤ Now it’s time to reread the first three and then reread this one!!
The only thing I dislike about this series is the cover art. I almost passed by this series because of it, I’m such a “judge a book by its cover” person but I’m so glad I got pulled in by the book descriptions because this series is SO GOOOOOD
Being born blind, Ken has always lived a sheltered life, thanks to his overprotective mother and older sisters. If it wasn’t for his best friend, Stone, he’d never have any kind of freedom, let alone a life. Twenty-one years old and still living at home, Ken is ready to be independent. When he moves into his own apartment and meets his new neighbor, Cassandra, he knows he’s made the right decision. Ken wants Cassandra, and the feeling seems to be mutual, but he’s worried. Can she accept that he can be everything she needs, or will she let his blindness keep her from taking a chance?

Awesome read!
This book tells the story of Slade and Mac (yes Mac is a girl). After being paralyzed in an accident Slade has given up ever finding love. Until he meets Mac. The story shows the reality of life of a paralyzed man… Please read the first two books in the series and you will enjoy this story more as you will meet the family and friends. This series has taken over to spit of my all-time favorite reads!

CANNON’S & HARVEY’S I LOVE THEE

This book was suggested by a friend of mine, and I want to get down on my hands and knees and kiss his feet. Ryanne Anthony is an amazing author that needs to be read. Broken was an amazing book it had me laughing to where tears were falling down my face to a point in the book I was sobbing because it touched me so deeply. Ryanne is the type of author that has you sitting right next to the characters in the book, and you walk their path in life with them. When I finished this book, I felt a loss for the characters have loved and learned about. I wanted to read more, and luckily I can read on in Mariah the next book in this series. I am a huge fan now, and I can’t wait to start reading more about this amazing cast of characters. This book is about two merged families the Cannons and the Harvey’s as they are all pulled into a therapy session with Victoria Fields to save the marriage of Joshua and Mandy Cannon, but as the session moves on, we learn much more. Secrets will be revealed can the families remain whole or will these secrets destroy them. This is a must-read and one book that will hit my go-to on those days when I need a lift. I loved learning about their lives and cannot wait to continue their journey and learn more about them. The Cannon’s and The Harvey’s are now part of my family and I love every single one of them. Does this book deserve 5 stars? No, it deserves 10++++ I loved this book and I will forever rave about Ryanne and her amazing talent as a writer.

‘Love is a wonderful thing, and you never know when love can …February 23, 2018 – Published on Amazon.comVerified Purchase‘Love is a wonderful thing, and you never know when love can happen, you just need to believe it will’ It’s very rare for me to find a book like this one and as you keep reading, there is a constant giggle that it just can’t stop. Stories like this are a reminder that no matter the age or the rough pass of time, love will still come to you, from one way or another, a mother, a relative or a close person to you will always care and get worried about you and as twisted as your life might be, there is a solution for that too. I, honestly don’t have the words to express how much I love this book, especially because two months ago one of my beloved pet passed away and while reading this, I was remembering every moment of happiness I have with him, just because we have a language, can talk and complain it doesn’t mean dogs or animals in general don’t do that too, and considering the joy a pet brings to your life, it’s normal to suggest that this story happen to all of us in a daily basis. No criticism, no suggestions, just buy and read this book, times are always difficult, no matter the perspective, but stories like this one can make everyone’s day a little bit better.
At thirty, Lauren Ryals was a successful single woman with a biological clock that ticked like a time bomb.
Truthfully, the ticking started a few years before, but the closer she got to her thirtieth birthday, the harder it was to ignore, so Lauren decided to try adoption.
Enter her old high school friend, Tevin Frazier, expressing his willingness to help her with that problem the old-fashioned way.
Lauren dreamed of a life with her high school beau, Gator, but he didn’t feel the same; he went his way soon after he graduated. Accepting this is the only way she will become a mother, Tevin, and Lauren enter an agreement and have children.
At a friend’s wedding festivities, Lauren and Gator cross paths again, and he reveals he wanted more than her body, but due to the rampant rumors about her, he didn’t feel she wanted more with him. Now they are both available, Gator offers Lauren the life he wanted with her when they were teens.
Lauren accepts, not knowing that Tevin is interested in being more than just her children’s father.

Captivated to the end!
I was told to read this book because the guessing would drive me insane and it did. It dragged to me in the beginning but soon it became captivating. I held my tablet and read as I cooked dinner. Several times after that gator surfaced I wanted to go to the end and see Lauren’s choice! Good play to keep it to the last word! Well done! I was rooting for him!
Life is short, and it’s up to you to make it sweet.”

Lorenza Seldner3.0 out of 5 stars A very sweet love storyReviewed in the United States on April 23, 2021Verified PurchaseThe book follows love-chasers Leo and Gracie. Leo, a recent widower and highly superstitious, is adamant about pursuing love and a second chance in life. Gracie feels pressured by her father to join the family business; she’s been hurt in relationships in the past and decides she’s had enough of love for now. They both travel to Paris, and the romance begins.
It’s all about love, in a deeply romantic, almost silly way. Don’t expect complicated plots, twists, and mystery on this love affair. I thought the author was clever enough to present the characters clumsily, but aside from that, I would’ve liked a bit more action. I am not a fan of the “tell don’t show” approach, and I felt the author was leading me into what to think about the characters instead of letting us making an idea of our own. It’s a sweet story for all those hopeless romantics.
