Great Intriguing Winter Read!!
By Stephanie
Well, I thoroughly enjoyed this book….first let me say while I don’t like winter, I love a good blizzard if I don’t have to be out in it.
This is the story of Joan and Michael who take a vacation to the mountain resort to get their marriage back on track. Trouble is there are too many outside forces working on that, and when her BFF shows up “coincidentally” the same weekend, Joan is suspicious. She is frustrated and goes for a hike. Things take a turn for the worse, including the weather and Stephen, one of the park rangers is sent out to find her.
Their attraction is mutual once they meet….
They sat side by side, not touching and yet so close. He could feel her body heat, and with the blizzard raging outside and the world cut off and quiet, their closeness felt that much more powerful.
I was totally engaged with the rest of this book, and I’m not sure how to review it since there were so many things I just didn’t see coming and don’t want to give anything away. There are so many emotions I felt reading this, depending on the characters.
This was a great little read, especially in winter, and I loved it!!
A fast-paced adventure
BybAmazon Customer
This was a fun-filled, fast-paced adventure. The main character, Leah was enjoyable and spirited, and I liked following her escapades on the ocean and in search of love.
A great tale of someone overcoming the odds and stepping out of her comfort zone to grow as a person.

Action Packed Sequel
In the first Soldiers of Destruction book, we received an in-depth character study of Katica’s past with Wyatt Powell, the love of her life and the things that lead up to her becoming Eve Stone, a cyborg super soldier. In this, Knights of Destruction, we move into the present day. This installment is much more action packed than the first, which focused more on the love story between the leaves. While it is still prevalent here, the major part of the novel explores Katica/Eve’s powers, for want of a better word.
The different sides of Eve/Katica come into play, and I love seeing these different sides of two very different characters in one body, it’s very much a spilt personality thing happening here.
Wyatt Powell is stoic and powerful— an incredible character in himself.
This is an outstanding series, and I look forward to the next installment.
This is a well written, interesting story of love, life and the heartache that comes with it. Leah is a woman who leads an interesting but at times sad life. Readers are lucky to be allowed to follow along on her journey that crosses continents and includes danger as Leah learns to deal with heartache linked to romance in a book that readers are going to enjoy. The author does a great job with this historical romance that has many other genres linked in the pages.
I love Kauffman’s Time After Time Series. MacKalvey House is my favorite so far.
Kauffman has a fantastic imagination and places these two lovers in different times and different situations. MacKalvey House is current times and takes place in England.
I think the characters interact perfectly, whether it be good or bad and make you feel for them.
I look forward to reading many more Time After Time books by Kauffman.
