Great book during difficult times
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. It was a great short great with a lot of feeling in it. It was told during the civil war when confederates had to help the union as well as their own. A nurse, Rosa, was taking care of a union soldier who had gotten critically hurt. While at the makeshift confederate hospital, Rose took care of Russell. When he got better, he kept getting hurt and taking supplies to the other union soldiers. So he kept showing up at the hospital while during this horrible time, Rosa and Russell fell in love. It wasn’t the best of times, since they were from opposite sides. The story gives us a glimpse of the past and how hard the times have been. A very good short read.
She’d made one too many stupid mistakes, and now had a hard time looking in the mirror and liking what she was seeing. She felt like one of those soap opera tragedies where she was burned to a crisp and had to rise again as a whole new person.
She was a survivor. She was determined to get her happily-ever-after…if only she could forgive herself.
Betty was in love with Bruce, but she had to keep the relationship at bay. She wanted the solid happily-ever-after but couldn’t waver from what her heart needed. She enjoyed women too, and wasn’t about to do anything behind his back.Surprises were quite pleasant when least expected, especially if it worked in her favor.
Larriane arrived in Florida with hope, a new job, and a new identity.A hurricane came barreling towards her sanctuary. Alone in the world, she’d been taken in by the Clere’s Restaurant clan and felt welcome. What was she thinking? She should’ve known that you can’t run away from your past.
This is a delightful story about friendship and lessons learned while growing up. It is beautifully illustrated as well! Inspirational for aspiring young writers and artists. Highly recommended for all ages!
Jason Donovan has a secret. The Clere’s Restaurant’s drama has been unfolding in front of his eyes. If he can see it, so can the restaurant’s other guests. But there’s something the servers aren’t telling him, and he will get to the bottom of it.Kat couldn’t get out of the restaurant fast enough. Funny how things work out…she never thought she’d meet someone like Jason.Secrets, lies, affairs, and deceit are served with a smile at Clere’s Restaurant…
Love this short story!
I love Ackerson’s books whether they’re time travel, romance, or a combination. This book is just a beautiful romance and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! I highly recommend this, and all books, by Pamela Ackerson!
A marvelous and fantastic journey, enjoy little-known history crafted with original, brilliant, unforgettable moments, unforgettable characters, and an unforgettable adventure that will keep you shaking your head.Karen Standing Deer’s daughter, Jennifer, knows exactly what she wants–to fall in love and marry a Native American just like her father and brother. Everyone else is immediately dismissed. Her friends and family keep telling her, the one you want could be right in front of her face.Unfortunately, like watching a bolt of lightning hit the ground, there’s nothing that can be done about it. She has the uncanny knack of choosing the wrong men, every time.Traveling to the past, with the belief that her one true love can’t be found this side of the millennium, she refuses to learn that she doesn’t have to go back to the past to find the one–she just needs to go back to the past to find her path.
I enjoyed this book as much as the first four. It was filled with letters that I didn’t understand the meaning of, like DD for instance.Jennifer was a very confused woman. I loved how she went back in time to help others but was disappointed that the story didn’t explain what happened to Jonathan. Did Jen teach him how to treat his future wife? I would have liked to know what happened to him and his family. Then Jen and Taylor finally get to understand each other and poof … The story ends. I expected much more to the story.Regardless I loved the story anyway, what there was of it. Are there any more books for the series?

My heart bleeds for the Indians! I wish I had lived in the time period when there were peaceful tribes and the white man stayed in their own back yard.
It shames me to be white, although I’m also Irish, German, and a tad of Indian. My husband is part Cherokee, he looks Indian. It is a horrible thing what the white men did, greed, and ignorance along with prejudices and thinking they were better than anyone else is what caused all the hatred and Indian wars.
I love these stories and can hardly wait for the fifth book! Please Pamela when will it be out? Wonderful job with this series!

Still holds interest
These stories keep getting more interesting. Hoping the mystery of who is after the men in the club is revealed in the next book.
The time-travel saga continues with book 2.A magnificent, timeless adventure that tugs at the heart weighs the soul, and measures the human strength and spirit. The Wilderness time travel series continues with this historically detailed story of love, war, and fantastic adventure.Dr. Karen Anderson returns to the past, to the Lakota and her life with Standing Deer. The Little Big Horn Battle – Custer’s Last Stand looms, ending a lifestyle the People have always known. Over the span of time, they fight for freedom and the promise of tomorrow.
loved this story so much! However, it ended way too soon, I wanted to see them reunite and help the people (Indians). Why couldn’t you have made it longer? Authors do this quite often and it saddens me. But I will read this story over again often, you can count on that. Anyone who read this wonderful story needs first to read the first book in the Wilderness series. If you don’t you will miss so very much that will help you understand book 2. Enjoy reading both as I have.
