A sweet romance
After being duped by an incredibly handsome con man, Daisy Mazlo returns to her hometown of Oakville Ohio to take a teaching job and start over. This is another sweet romance by Carol Ann Kauffman. The characters are extremely likable and the story itself is a cute picture of life in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. Ms. Kauffman has done a fantastic job in keeping the reader’s attention with the fast enjoyable read. Five stars for a lovely piece of storytelling.
Small-town red-head Cat Collier runs a private investigation service called Red Cat Investigation out of her office in the beautiful Palazzo Castellano with the help of her secretary, Nola White, an ex-client Cat took in because she had nowhere else to go, her boyfriend, Erick “Carter” Larsen, and Carter’s father, the wealthy, influential, and shady lawyer, Detrick Bittmor.
In this third installment of the Cat Collier Mystery series, after escaping from captivity in an abandoned train car, Cat stumbles upon a homeless man at the long-deserted train station, who helps her get home to Carter. Detrick discovers he knows this homeless man as the one-time legendary saxophone player who played in the downstairs bar when they were both young and the family embarks on rehabilitating the sax player and reopening the bar, “The Blues.”
A cute, cozy whodunit.

The presence of Carter, Cat, and Nola is having a profound effect on Detrick Bittmore in a positive way. The author has softened the once crotchety and rather crooked attorney. Once again we are treated to a novella that is full of romance, humor, and a bit of action. I could not put this book down and enjoyed every word. This is another five-star read!
Dr. Laura Martin, Chief Extraterrestrial Life Scientist at The Touchstone Institute of Oceanographic Research, noticed troubling but subtle changes in the Atlantic Ocean. Before she could make sense of it all, her longtime assistant abruptly walked out. Laura hired young, handsome Scott Conner to be her personal assistant. Mayhem ensued, mainly because of Zara, the mermaid/siren/monster in the basement of the Touchstone Institute, who eyed on Scott as her possible mate in a plot for total domination of planet Earth.“The Touchstone Institute of Oceanographic Research is the most fantastic, exhilarating place on the planet to work. It is high-energy, exciting, sometimes maddening, often frightening, heart-pounding work. It’s not a job. It’s a lifetime commitment. It gets in your blood. It grabs you by the throat and possesses you, body and soul. And it is work. If you’re not prepared to work your ass off day in and day out, weekends, holidays, your birthday, and your mamma’s birthday, leave now.”

Man-eating she-beasts need love too
If you like romance with science fiction, you’re going to really enjoy this. It’s kind of like Men in Black but with USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) but the main characters aren’t government agents, but scientists (but they definitely aren’t afraid to use a gun or kill when necessary). I won’t go into the plot because that would spoil things but you get some real twists thrown into here with two very human characters, who don’t necessarily remain that way. And, yes, the romance is quite good once you get past Scott’s immediate and complete infatuation.
The villain of the piece, Zara, even comes across as sympathetic… well, as sympathetic as a man-eating alien she-beast can be. If I had one ding against the story it was Zara’s wildly shifting emotions. In a lot of ways, it can be explained by the events in the story but it is very obliquely done. Also, even better, there are plenty of seeds in this story for a sequel and I really hope that happens.

I don’t usually read books like this one, but I am glad I read it

I don’t usually read books like this one, but I am glad I read it. This book is about two people who love each other no matter what happens to them. It is about two people who are from different planets, one is a princess, and the other one is a farm boy. He had loved her from afar for a very long time. Finally, they meet, and she picks him from all the other men. She falls in love with him, and he tells her he has loved her for a long time. This book is would you need to read, and you can see that love in the same in any universal. I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read a different kind of love story.

I truly believe you will enjoy any of the books in this series!!
As usual, I have read this out of order but it was still just as good as all the rest. I think I might still have 2 to go. These are relatively short books which you should be able to read in one sitting!
Cat has finally started her detective agency–and wait until you read where she is able to set up shop! Her first case is to find a missing pet–no problem! Then she gets a case that is not quite as simple and has a couple of twists and turns!
I truly believe you will enjoy any of the books in this series!!
“Echo of Heartbreak, A Recipe for Life” is a short story written in the form of a letter from a very ill mother to her unborn daughter, telling her the incidents surrounding her birth, giving her advice on life, and leaving her the best of her family recipes.

Easy to follow life lessons as well as recipes……
Echo of a Heartbreak is an excellent book. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the life lessons given in this book as well as the down-to-earth recipes Carol gave the readers. Unfortunately, I was in tears as I reread this book. However, I am relieved the essence of Melina lives on in her daughter in McKelvey House. I am going to try some of the recipes that are clearly given in this book. The author cleverly goes from the storyline into her enclosed recipes. I have reread this book several times and enjoy it every time. Thank You.
As a retired insurance office manager, Skye McKenna launches a new career as a children’s book author., she embarks on a book tour in Australia, where she meets a reclusive elephant-loving veterinarian. Why does he seem so familiar? And so attractive? And how old is TOO old to find love? The TIME AFTER TIME series follows a pair of quintessential lovers, Richard and Nicole, through their lives together, at different times, in different places, with different names and faces. This follows the alternate theory that the relationships we forge in this lifetime, both good and bad, are continued in the future and rooted in the past. Those people who have had a profound effect on us in this life will find us in the future.

How many lifetimes have you sought out your true love and found them again and again?
Did you ever have a dream about a person for years that you never met, but you know you know them very well? And when you do finally meet, the both of you have memories of things you did together, years ago, centuries ago, another lifetime ago? And the both of you know the other name from another time? Well, this happened to Skye and Derrick in their 60’s. When they both called each other by their other name, I got goosebumps! Some people are meant to be with each other forever and that means from one lifetime to another. Somehow, one way or the other, they find each other. I like to think my husband and I are like that. I believe that you live on in your sprite form until God has another plan for you. So why not being with the only one for you, your Soul Mate, from lifetime to lifetime, and so on? This is a very touching story and makes you think about who you are with and people that you have met and felt a connection to right away. I love how Carol put this story together. It’s a love story of a different kind. Sweet, mystery, funny and heartwarming all rolled into one.
Strangers meet on the train. She, a beautiful, wealthy businesswoman. He, a down-on-his-luck office manager. They have nothing in common. And yet, they are drawn to each other with an undeniable hypnotic magnetism. This is the story of Rebecca Robbins, daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the country, and Mark Ramsay, a man shrouded in dark mystery and hiding in the shadows

Great Reads
This was such a surprising read. I was expecting a suspenseful romance but it really was a thrill ride full of unexpected twists. The characters are unique and nothing is as it seems. Even the secondary characters grab your attention. As the story unfolded I truly loved that there were stakes that went so far beyond will they won’t fall in love. That said the romance was perfect. There was a bond there that surpassed the natural and really Mark was just the perfect man. I look forward to reading more from this author soon. If you want a romance that is high in suspense yet still manages that sweet romantic feeling this is your book.
